Salvete omnes parentes et discipulos.
Name: Mrs. Diane S. McCullough aka Magistra
Email Address: dmccullough@ldsd.org Phone number: 566- 5330 ext-2088 I fell in love with Latin when I was in the ninth grade, and I knew from then on that I wanted everyone to know what I knew about the language and the Roman people.
I did my undergraduate work at Millersville (State College)University and my masters (in Liberal Studies) at the College of Notre Dame of Maryland.
I am married and have 3 grown sons and 3 beautiful granddaughters.
I love to read, travel, visit my grandchildren, and play with my cats, Diva and Kirby.
My favorite part of teaching Latin is when a student comes to class and says, I saw Latin in my English book, I heard Latin on Jeopardy, I understood Latin when you spoke, and I knew Latin when no one else in my class did.
Whether it is a trip to New York, Philadelphia, or the Latin Festival in Carlisle, to me field trips are what give real meaning to Latin and the Romans. Reading about them and looking at pictures of artifacts is great, but actually seeing them in a museum is amazing. Performing and observing how others interpret the Roman language and their ideals at the Latin Festival gives students a chance to make the content real to them.
Ave et Vale
