Course Title: 8th grade Reading Subject: Reading Grade Level(s):8 Synopsis of Curriculum
This reading course is designed to help students improve their basic reading skills. The emphasis will be on comprehension of fiction and nonfiction, word recognition, vocabulary development, reading strategies, literary analysis, and writing in response to reading. Students will apply these skills not only in this class, but in other content areas as well. Students will use a wide variety of materials including text books, computer programs, magazines, short stories and novels.
