• South Hanover Outdoor Education

The Fall "Day" Trip will be in October for the 2024-2025 school year.

The spring trip will be in May 2025.

  • South Hanover Outdoor Education (SHOE) is a five-day experience with four days and three nights spent at Camp Hebron in Halifax, PA.

This is a unique experience where students take part in hands-on instructional units including:
    • Project WILD
    • Insects
    • Pennsylvania Mammals
    • GO GREEN
    • Stream Study

Students will participate in many different recreational activities, such as horseback riding, archery, boating and canoeing, and team games.  During their stay at camp, students also have the opportunity to work together to build shelters, hike to the top of Peter's Mountain, square dance, sing campfire songs, have cookouts, and bond together as a 5th grade.

All of these activities provide many opportunities for students to work collaboratively using communication skills, creativity, and critical thinking skills.  It is a week filled with fun, excitement, and memories that will last a lifetime!
