YWCA: Body Rights Presentations
In Kindergarten, 3rd, and 5th grades, a trained presenter from the YWCA will visit each classroom to show a video and have a discussion about "Body Rights." This program is presented to each classroom in a non-threatening and age-appropriate manner, emphasizing the right to say, "No!" when a touch or action isn't right. This program will occur in the fall. Parents interested in further discussion about this program should contact Mrs. Kalloz. YWCA No-Name Calling Week Presentations
In January, South Hanover celebrates national No Name Calling week. As part of No Name Calling Week, the YWCA visits 1st and 4th grade classrooms to educate students about the various forms of bullying behavior. A staff member from the YWCA will present on the topic of bullying. A short video and discussion about bullying (definition, forms, bystanders, reporting, etc.) will follow. In 1st grade, a staff member from the YWCA will present a lesson and story about conflict resolution at a 1st-grade developmental level. In 4th grade,
