Confident Kids Group
Confident Kids is a group designed for first grade students have difficulty controlling their worry, stress, or anxiety. The students will learn various strategies and techniques on how to manage their worries and build their confidence. The students will have the opportunity to explore new strategies through the use of resources and will learn how to properly cope with worry and anxiety. The ultimate goal of the program is to help children build their self-esteem and learn how to manage worry. Confident Kids helps students express their feelings and the group offers a supportive environment in which they will learn that others have similar experiences. The members of the group will meet once a week before school for four weeks. Students will participate in confidence building activities and learn coping strategies. Individual appointments are made as needed and can be initiated by parent, teacher, or student. Participation in Confident Kids is voluntary and requires parental approval.
