Nye Elementary School is the only elementary school located within Hummelstown Borough and this location provides our students with some unique opportunities.
Our students are able to walk to places within our community to see firsthand places and events around the town. They might walk to area parks, the public library, nature trails and even the town square to extend their learning outside of the classroom. Our school building is unique among Lower Dauphin's elementary schools in that part of it was once used as Hummelstown High School and we have deep roots to our history. We are proud of our connection to the Borough of Hummelstown and we, as a school, take advantage of the many opportunities to be actively involved in our community.
We are proud of our history, but we are also proud of our vision towards the future. Nye Elementary School is always looking to improve what it does for students and to enhance the student experience. From the integration of technology, to our Manner's Day celebration, and much more, we believe in taking each opportunity to help develop well-rounded students who possess academic and civic skills.
