Wednesday, February 5, 2020 at 7:00pm in the high school Library
    *SNOW DATE 2/6/2020
The Career and Post Secondary Planning Program will provide students and their families with an overview of the post-secondary process when one decides to leave high school and attend a college (community college, technical school or 4-year university). Students and parents are encouraged to attend this evening program to explore resources available to students as they think about career choices and college options.

Topics will include: Career Exploration, Post-Secondary Searching and Planning, Test Preparation... developing a plan that’s right for you!!

LDHS School Counseling Office is a tremendous resource for students and parents when it is time to consider post-secondary education decisions.  We encourage students to think about their career direction in order to plan for a post-secondary direction.  Career exploration often determines the difference between Community College, Technical School or 4-year institution.  When planning for any college... consider qualities like campus size, location, programs of study, reputation and "fit".  College admissions counselors are looking for students that are a good fit for their institution and that deserves time and attention on the part of the student through visiting and meeting with admissions reps (when they visit LD or on campus).  The packets below will provide you with additional information about how to make campus visits meaningful, valuable questions to ask along the discovery process and links to financial aid resources.  If you have any other questions about preparing for your future educational plans, please contact your counselor.

CAREER AND COURSE PLANNING GUIDE  provides students with additional information about all of the courses we offer at the high school and how they align to ones' career goals.  Students will receive this guide during the course selection process.
