Elementary CAOLA
Parents interested in having their elementary student participate in LDSD's CAOLA program need to understand their responsibility in being a "learning coach". This role is described in the resources below. To better inform yourself of these expectations visit the following links:

Also be advised that the elementary CAOLA program is set up for four (4) marking periods, not trimesters.
The vendor offering elementary curriculum is Accelerate Education. View the video below for more information regarding their overall program.
LDSD is pleased to offer online learning as an option for your student. There are two options for you to choose from.
They are:
Full-time online: all classes are completed online.
Combination Learners: with the majority of classes taken online and then supplementing with a few hands-on classes in the live classroom.
It is important that your building principal/guidance counselor is aware of your intentions to enroll in LDSD's CAOLA program.
The application process for the Lower Dauphin School District’s CAOLA online program is as follows:
Any student applying for full time or part time status MUST SUBMIT an application on or BEFORE the following dates:
To begin the 2024-2025 school year: August 9, 2024
Marking Period 2: Applications received on or before October 11, 2024 = Start date October 31, 2024
Marking Period 3: Applications received on or before January 3, 2025 = Start date January 21, 2025
Marking Period 4: Applications received on or before March 7, 2025 = Start date March 28, 2025
Applications received AFTER the above dates will be processed for the next marking period. For example, if an application is submitted on October 12, 2024 or later, it will be processed to start Marking Period 3 with a start date of January 21, 2025.
Extenuating circumstances will be reviewed on an individual student basis to determine enrollment date.
