Synopsis of Curriculum
Students will build on what they learned in French I and II. They will start the year with a review of the passé compose and express what they did over the summer. Students will be able to conduct an interview and find out information about professions and family life. Students will be able to present their interview to the class in French. Students will be able to talk about what they do on the weekends, and for vacation. Students will be able to talk about animals they would find in the countryside. Students will be able to use the Parisian metro map and give directions to get from one landmark to another using the metro. Students will dive deeper into French food. They will be able to look and buy food in a market. They will be able to compare food shopping in the United States and France. Students will be able to describe and discuss entertainment. They will be able to talk about their favorite types of entertainment. Students will be able to extend, accept and decline invitations. Students will be able to use indirect and direct object pronouns in their writing and their speaking and they will be able to describe relationships with others. Students will compare how French teenagers spend their free time to how they do here in the United States.
