Synopsis of Curriculum

Juniors taking this AP course follow the college preparatory or AP/ honors track having a rich understanding of literary philosophy and some natural writing ability. There is no prerequisite for this class. The course begins with an immediate focus on non-fiction, argument structures/organization, analysis of literary philosophy, style, persuasion, and syntax. Following an American Literary timeline, students will build upon skills of logic, persuasion, and critical thinking to master their own analysis and writing.
