Synopsis of Curriculum
Ninth grade English focuses on interpretive and analytical skills necessary for student success and progress. A challenging selection of both fiction and nonfiction texts will be utilized in order to prepare students. There is also an emphasis on the major writing styles. Review of grammar, spelling, and speaking skills will also be included in the units of study. Summer reading is required at the College Prep. level and above. Students must secure a reading list from the instructor or counseling office prior to the school year.
