Synopsis of Curriculum
Personal Development is an introductory course to Family and Consumer Sciences at the high school. Units studied include food safety, nutrition, small appliance applications, consumerism, clothing construction, communication and relationship skills, and child development. Emphasis is on practicing skills through culinary labs, projects, demonstrations, role-playing, and class discussions. Students will construct either boxer shorts or pajama pants as part of the clothing unit and are responsible for purchasing some of the materials.
