Synopsis of Curriculum
This course is a study of Vergil’s Aeneid Books I, II and IV. Students will develop their ability to translate the required passages into English as literally as possible, analyze the Latin passages, scan the dactylic hexameter of the epic poem, review complex grammatical constructions and learn additional constructions. We will also learn about and discuss the major themes of the Aeneid.
