Synopsis of Curriculum
Percussion class is designed to allow percussionists the opportunity to study all percussion instruments as a part of the concert band. Although they meet separately, they are members of the larger ensemble. Our specialized time allows for an in depth study of battery and mallet percussion along with units on timpani and auxiliary percussion. Students can expect to leave the class with a complete understanding of care and performance practice on a variety of percussion instruments. Individual practice is expected on class study materials (etudes), concert, marching, and indoor literature, as needed.
