Synopsis of Curriculum

The Algebra I course provides a formal development of the algebraic skills and concepts necessary for students to succeed in advanced courses. In this course, students will master solving equations and inequalities in one variable before advancing to linear relationships in two variables. The course will also explore systems of equations and inequalities, simplifying and factoring polynomials, radical expressions, and probability and statistics. Mathematical reasoning and real-life applications are embedded into curriculum. At the conclusion of the course, students will demonstrate their proficiency with a PA Keystone Exam.
