Synopsis of Curriculum
6th grade General Music is a course designed to teach about how Music is created and performed. Student and various composer perspectives are explored. Skills taught include reading music on the treble clef and using technology to create and play music. We also perform on a variety of instruments including ukuleles & percussion. Projects are individual & collaborative, and will incorporate listening & responding to a variety of genres. Vocabulary is also taught through traditional methods and through the use of memorable & fun mnemonics.
MUSIC is taught on varied & customized levels: the idea is to enhance the concept of ‘life-long learners’.
It is an ‘art’ that students will sample into their adult years.
