• Welcome to Mr.Shuey's Geography and Early Civilization Course
     
     

    About Mr. Shuey: This is Mr. Shuey's tenth year at Lower Dauphin School District. He is a graduate of Penn State Harrisburg and has completed his masters at Harrisburg University, obtaining a degree in Learning Technologies & Media Systems(LTMS). In his spare time he coaches ice hockey, which he has coached at a variety of levels and ages since 2009.  Currently, Mr. Shuey is a 7th grade Geography/Early Civilization Teacher, in which he covers the following content: 

    Course Description: In the first half of this course we will examine and analyze the geography, culture, economics, government and the history of Europe, Asia and Africa. In the second half of the course we will examine several major Early Civilizations by using an interdisciplinary approach stressing geography, archaeology, history, economics, government, reading, and writing. The purpose of the course is for students to discover what is important for educated citizens to know about the major nations of Europe, Asia, and Africa. In addition, students will research Ancient Prehistory, Mesopotamia, Egypt and Greece and evaluate how these cultures continue to influence the modern world.
