Welcome to Kindergarten at South Hanover!
I would like to take this time to introduce myself and share a little bit about me. My name is Taylor Atherton! My husband and I moved to the area in 2018 from a small town close to Pittsburgh, Pa. We quickly fell in love with the area and are so happy to call it home now! We have a very spoiled goldendoodle at home named Nala. I love to read, go on walks, and spend time with my family!
I've been teaching Kindergarten at South Hanover since 2019. I received my undergraduate degree in Early Childhood Education and Special Education from Clarion University. I earned my master's degree from Wilson College in Educational Technology. My first few years teaching were spent in the Learning Support setting where I taught grades kindergarten through eighth. I have experienced many different grades, but kindergarten is absolutely the most magical year! I feel privileged that I get to be a part of such a pivotal year!
Be assured that I will do my best to make this school year an enjoyable time for your child, but also a time filled with real learning. Please do not think your child will be just "playing" all day! The skills we practice daily in kindergarten are the building blocks for your child's future success in school and in life!
I'm looking forward to working with you and your child this year. If you have any questions or concerns, you may email or call me at school.
