State Police Criminal History Record – Act 34

ACT 34 - STATE POLICE CRIMINIAL HISTORY RECORD CLEARANCE


The Pennsylvania State Police has established a web-based computer application called “Pennsylvania Access To Criminal History” (PATCH.) Using this system, a requestor can apply for a PA criminal background check online. This clearance is valid for 5 years from date of issuance. “No Record” certificates are returned immediately 85% of the time, via email. The cost is $22.00 per request.

  • You will need your Social Security Number.
  • Log in to the website listed above, then select “Submit a New Record Check”.

    • NOTE: Reason for Request = Employment
  • Select “Next” and then select “Proceed”.

  • Complete the required fields with your personal information as requested.

  • Enter This Request”.

  • Select “Finished”, then “Submit”, and finally “Checkout”.

  • Continue entering payment information and select “Pay with your credit card”.

  • Once you get your notification email to let you know your clearance is complete- click on the blue control # beginning with “R”. Click on the blue “Certification Form” to get the official State Police clearance. Print the final PA Criminal History Record.

  • Please save your PA Criminal History Record electronically for future reference.

Upon completion, please provide a copy of your State Police clearance to Human Resources at the DAC (or e-mail results to mfullerton@ldsd.org).
