2025-26 Kindergarten Registration Information

Registration for new students entering public school kindergarten in the fall of the 2025-2026 school year begins February 2025 at all Lower Dauphin elementary schools. 

Children entering kindergarten for the 2025-2026 school year must be 5 years of age before September 1, 2025.  Children entering first grade in the fall of 2025 must be 6 years of age before September 1, 2025.  

Parents or guardians are to register students at the school currently assigned to the address where the child's parent or guardian resides.  Parents may check the PA Department of Community & Economic Development Municipal Statistics to see which school they are assigned to per their address:

Step 1:  Parent Information Form 

Please complete the LDSD Kindergarten Parent Information Form for every child who is eligible to enroll in kindergarten.  Even if you do not intend to enroll your child for the 2025-2026 school year, we still ask that you complete the Parent Information Form so that we can remove your child from our building roster. 

Scheduling for registration appointments will occur at the District Kindergarten Parent Orientation or we will call you once we receive this information. 

 

Step 2: Gather Needed Documents for registration:

The parent or guardian must present the following information at the time of registration:

  • The child's evidence of birth
  • An authorized record of immunizations
  • Proof of residency in the form of a lease, a deed, or a utility bill
  • Photo id of the parent/guardian
  • Proof of custody if required

State law prohibits a child from attending school for even one day unless proof of immunization has been provided.  

Families who need language support during the registration can request an interpreter through the school when they make the registration appointment.

You will also need to access PowerSchool Enrollment (through Chrome) where you will enter much of the information we need prior to your appointment. If you have never used PowerSchool Enrollment before, you will need to create an account. Using a computer, not a cell phone or iPad, go to this link: 

Create an email and password to Sign-in

Click on "New Student" and complete all the required information.  Please make sure to use capital letters when appropriate.   Hit Submit at the end the form to make sure it goes to the school.

 

 

Step 4: The school will review the information then reach out to you to set up an appointment for registration and testing.

Families choosing homeschool, cyber/charter, or private school need to call the Lower Dauphin Central Enrollment line at 717-566-5317 to inform the district of your desire to educate through a different entity for the school year.
