Educational Websites
Lower Dauphin School District provides various educational content to students in digital form. Where student accounts are necessary, the District ensures that all content selected has been reviewed by District personnel and determined to be compliant with the Children’s Online Protection and Privacy Act (COPPA). The District has agreed to use such content in a manner consistent with COPPA. Each resource, listed below, supports in-classroom instruction and is curricular in nature. Click on the name of each resource for more info on that site’s privacy policies. This list of approved sites is updated regularly, so be sure to check back often for new websites and apps.
Teachers, Please Note:
Some resources listed below may operate on a freemium business model and require a paid subscription for advanced features that the district hasn't currently purchased. In addition, the IT Department may not support issues that arise for applications with which t the district does not have a contract.
For websites that require students to type their name to join an activity, students should only use their first name or a pseudonym.

SketchUp: Students must use the SketchUp for Schools icon within the Google Drive app list
Soundtrap: Must use school version with students
Teach Your Monster: Teachers must create accounts. Should use nickname or pseudonym for all accounts
Explicit Parental Permission
The following websites have been reviewed and require explicit parent permission. If you are a teacher and need to arrange for parent permission, please speak with the IT Director or a Technology Integration Coach.
BandLab: (must be 13 and requires explicit consent)
Facebook: High school only, under direct supervision of employee
Further: explicit consent required if UNDER age 13
Google Workspace for Education
Instagram: High school only, under direct supervision of employee
ldfalconflash.com: Must be over age 13
Legends of Learning: Teachers must create accounts for students. Accounts should be random characters.
Youtube: High school only, under direct supervision of employee. Refers to using an account to create and publish content. Must be 13 or older.
