The Lower Dauphin School District has been approved to use up to five (5) Flexible Instructional Days during the 2022-2023 school year. These are days to be used for times when the school is forced to close unexpectedly.

When the district designates a day as a Flexible Instructional Day, the students will participate in a fully remote, online program which is a combination of synchronous and asynchronous instruction provided by our certified teaching staff.

Elementary Schedule Details
All work will be posted on our Learning Management System, Canvas. Instruction and office hours will occur via Zoom.

Secondary Schedule Details
All work will be posted on our Learning Management System, Canvas. Instruction will occur via Zoom in 15-minute blocks according to students’ daily schedule and office hours will occur at the end of the day via Zoom.

During inclement weather (ice, snow, flood), schools will be closed if radio or TV reports indicate that the Lower Dauphin School District is closed. Individual school buildings are not generally mentioned.

This information will also be posted on the district’s Informaline (717-566-5320) and on the Lower Dauphin School District website at www.ldsd.org and social media channels.

In addition, the district utilizes the School Messenger emergency alert system. Similar to a reverse 911 system, the autodialer allows the school to contact parents in an emergency through land line phones, mobile phones, text messages and emails. Parents/guardians are responsible for making sure that their contact information in the School Messenger system is up-to-date and correct.
