Who Needs Background Checks?
VOLUNTEER OR VISITOR?
Lower Dauphin School District strongly encourages all volunteers to complete the required clearances as a best practice. However, in accordance with PA law, we have developed the following chart to assist our staff and volunteers to understand when clearances are required prior to contact with students.
Parents and community members are encouraged to participate in the education of our children by sharing their time and talents in the classroom.There are a number of types of volunteers, which are described on the chart below. All volunteer types require a TB test while some types depending on the level of supervision, require clearances.
The following chart provides guidance on clearance requirements which are needed in order to volunteer with the District. For further clarification, please contact your Principal or the Director of Human Resources for more information.
