Lower Dauphin & NIMS
Lower Dauphin School District administrative staff has been trained in the National Incident Management System(NIMS) framework. In addition, staff members who have an important role in an emergency situation (nurses, counselors, etc) have also received training in NIMS.
NIMS is used to coordinate emergency preparedness and incident management among various federal, state, and local agencies. It is scalable system to allow for the management of a small incident up to a major national disaster. It also provides a set of standard organizational structures, processes, procedures, systems and language designed to foster greater coordination among jurisdictions and disciplines in various areas.
NIMS was adopted for the Lower Dauphin School District by a resolution of the Board of School Directors in 2010.
