Therapeutic Autism Support

 

Purpose: The Therapeutic Autism Support (TAS) program is structured to support students with skill delays consistent with Autism Spectrum Disorders as well as with Emotional Delays.  The program provides instruction in the areas identified by state standards for Interpersonal Skills to help our students be successful in academic, emotional and social situations in school, at home and in the community.

 

The general goals for the TAS program link directly from the PA Interpersonal Skills standards.  Curricula and specially designed instruction (SDI) support each of these goal areas.  Staff development is tied to the curricula and SDI used and/or the skill areas reflected in the state standards. Indicators of Progress measure how well the program is meeting its general goals and analysis allows for adjustments to curricula, SDI, and/or staff development.
