GENERAL INFORMATION 

  1. Selective Service: Male students must register with the Selective Service System within 30 days of reaching their 18th birthday. Register at www.sss.gov
  2. Shield Driving: Attention sophomores Learn the fundamentals of safe driving at your convenience with your own computer.     • The Christian School Association of Greater Harrisburg will be hosting its College Fair on Monday, October 25th. There will be a Community College Fair from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM that will feature several colleges, universities, technical schools, and branches of the United States military. There will be a second fair held at the same location from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM featuring several Christian colleges that are local and also several from the surrounding states.
  2. LD High School Career & Post-Secondary Events: 
    • Career & Post-Secondary Planning Program - Thurs., Feb., 3, 2022 7-8 PM in the Library. This event will provide students and their families with an overview of the post-secondary process when one decides to leave high school. 
    • Financial Aid Night (Grades 9-12) - Wed., Oct., 20, 2021 7-8:30 PM in the Library. This event will address the basics of applying for financial aid, how eligibility is determined and sources and types of aid.  
    • New Student Orientation (Grade 9/New Students) - Wed., Aug 18 2021 6-8:30 PM at the high school. 
    • PHEAA/FAFSA Night (Grade 12) - Wed., Oct., 6, 2021 7-8:30 PM in the Library. A Pennsylvania Higher Education Assistance Agency representative will walk families through the Free Applicaiton for Federal Student Aid form. PHEAA's Completion Help Events 
    • PHEAA Webinars - These virtual sessions assist with key, timely aspects of highter education planning (Financial aid timeline, Searching for scholarships, etc.). Register here.
  3. LD High School College Representative Visits (Juniors/Seniors)- Meeting with a college admissions representative can provide a wealth of information on their academic program, admission process, tuition criteria and campus life. To search for and register for a visit, login to Naviance, Colleges Tab, Research Colleges, and College Visits. 
  4. LD High School Military Recruiters: Armed Services recruiters routinely schedule  lunch visits to highlight career possibilities. If there is an interest in a specific military branch, please stop by the Counseling Office for recruiter information. 
  5. Pennsylvania Higher Education Assistance Agency (PHEAA):
    • Webinars - PHEAA offers one-hour webinars focused more specifically on  financial aid, student loans, and other aspects of higher education finance. To register. Click Here

SCHOLARSHIPS

Scholarship postings and online search engines are available in Naviance. Click on the Colleges Tab, Scholarships & Money, and Scholarships List. Applications that are submitted through the Counseling Office must be turned in no later than 2:30 PM the day of the deadline.

  TESTING INFORMATION 

  1. ACT: Lower Dauphin High School testing dates for the 2021-22 school year include Saturday, December 11, 2021 and Saturday, April 2, 2022. Registration information is available at www.act.org 
  2. ADVANCED PLACEMENT (AP): Registration is closed for the 2020-21 school year. 
  3. ARMED SERVICE VOCATIONAL APTITUDE BATTERY (ASVAB):  The Lower Dauphin High School testing date for the 2021-22 school year is Wednesday, October 20, 2021.  Registration Form - Deadline Oct. 15, 2021
  4. PSAT: The Lower Dauphin High School testing date is for the 2021-22 school year is Saturday, October 16, 2021. Registration Form - Deadline Sept. 10, 2021
  5. SAT: Lower Dauphin High School testing dates for the 2021-22 school year are Saturday, November 6, 2021, Saturday, March 12, 2022 and Saturday, June 4, 2022. Registration information is available at www.sat.org/register
  6. SAT PREP COURSE: This is a 6-week course with classes scheduled on either Wednesday evenings or Saturday mornings. Fall Registration Form & Schedule
