Hello Lower Dauphin High School Families,
This is Justin Hanula, principal at Lower Dauphin High School. We wanted to take a quick moment to review some information with you regarding grading. In the fourth quarter of the 2019-2020 school year, we only included grades if they helped a student’s overall average for the year. This year we are not approaching grades the same way we did this past spring; rather, we will be following our “normal” grading practices as a school prior to the pandemic.
We wanted to ensure everyone was aware of our plan to follow our normal grading practices, as the end of the first marking period is just two weeks from today. We encourage you to go into PowerSchool and check your child’s grades. If you need assistance accessing or navigating PowerSchool, please contact your child’s school counselor.
As Dr. Schultz stated in one of his recent videos, now more than ever, we want to work with you as partners in your child’s education; and, the best way to work together is through communication. Therefore, if you have questions or concerns about your child’s progress in the first marking period, I encourage you to reach out to your child’s teachers.
Thank you for all your support and partnership. Take care.
End of the Marking Period is October 29, 2020.
